Love Endures the Storms

It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming 2018 and its so hard to believe that we’ll soon be dropping the ball for 2019! As I look back and celebrate all of the successes we’ve had as wedding photographers thanks to our couples, I too celebrate the storms. So, its only fitting that my last wedding of the 2018 was of Benita and Avery.  Benita and Avery’s initial plan was to have their wedding at the lovely Cape Fear Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville, North Carolina back in September. However as multiple states including North Carolina were affected by Hurricane Florence, these love birds were forced into a change of plans. But Hurricane Florence didn’t stop there, it called upon Hurricane Michael to also wreak havoc. The combination of these two storms  sent waves around our globe causing many to scramble and seek higher ground. But one thing this storm couldn’t stop was the love of Benita and Avery!

As the two decided to reschedule their big day, they easily decided on one of downtown Fayetteville’s  premier wedding venues, the Skyview.  As we started documenting the details of their day, I was reminded of the saying, “you can always read a woman if you look her in the eyes”, and I concur. But Avery took this to a whole new level as once you spend a minute around him, its nothing more apparent than the  love he has for his beautiful bride, as his smile brighten the room every time her name was mentioned. So when paired with seeing her glow as she graced down the aisle, the room lit up like the christmas tree in city center of The Grinch. As I expected Avery to tear up at the look of his gorgeous bride, he could not help but smile from ear to ear. By their looks, it nothing more apparent than the fact that these two are prepared to handle whatever is thrown their way.

With no detail undone, Benita’s dress and Avery’s shoes definitely left their guests mesmerized. As they stood at the altar exchanging their vows in the mist of family and friends, the word “STAND” just resonated with me. I was reminded that love STANDS the test of time and overcomes all challenges. In the mist of storms, when two make a conscience decision to “STAND” together, their love for one another grows making them even stronger than before. I know that these two will not only stand together at the altar on this day, but they will stand together for a lifetime.
