Perfection-the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.
Often when we think of perfection, we think of someone being free of error. We think of where they presently are. What we fail to remember is that this is not what perfection is. Generally we overlook the culmination of events that transpired that have created this “level” of perfection. As I photographed April & David, they were clearly the perfect pair. As I’ve photographed tons of couples during their wedding, engagement or anniversary sessions, I’ve grown to expect couples to be a bit nervous the first time on camera. But not these two. It was like I wasn’t even there. They laughed and joked from start to finish, allowing me to document their love candidly. During their engagement session, the love and affection these two showed one another, blinded me of all the possibility that they were anything less that perfect for each other prior to now. This very perfection was evident in every detail, from their color palette to the selection of their wardrobes.
Looking stunning in her gorgeous canary yellow dress accented with a striped navy and white belt, David couldn’t take his eyes off of his soon to be bride. The two danced in downtown as this cinderella’s didn’t have a curfew.
But April wasn’t the only one styling. David was definitely flexing with his navy shirt with white polka dots. He also made sure to represent New York, as his Yankees fitted hat completed his ensemble. These two made sure not to leave a detail overlooked. April and David’s outfits were perfectly complimentary as April’s polka dot earrings brought it all together. This subtle gestures was a touch that I absolutely loved!
As I concluded their engagement session, April and David gave me a lesson on love that what communicated nonverbally. Their love for one another spoke volumes to me. I was reminded that love has levels of perfection. Although sometimes we are blinded by the now, this very element allows us to see a picture of love from a different perspective. Only the things that we’ve experienced makes our love perfect. Yet, this perfect love will be eclipsed by the future experiences that we share. I hope that everyone is able to obtain this love one day in life.
Perfection- the action or process of improving something until it is faultless or as faultless as possible.
